Reports

Burnley missed the chance to go second in the division with a poor performance in front of the Sky TV cameras. They were expected to win well, and started much the stronger, but failed to score. Andy Payton was brought down when clear on goal but Dawson stayed on the pitch, and Burnley wasted their early pressure. Then the defence went walkabout to allow Guy Ipoua to score after a flick-on from on-loan Clint Marcelle. Burnley's cohesion disappeared and their standard of play fell dramatically

After half time there was more pressure and Payton netted the equaliser with a glancing header from a well-worked free kick, but Scunthorpe won it with a magnificent solo goal from Ipoua five minutes from time.

This defeat appears to have triggered some transfer activity with rumours about incoming players... we shall see...
