Steve Harper

A "Winger who is equally at home on either flank" according to programme notes, Steve joined the Clarets from Preston North End in July 1991. Born in Stoke, he started his career with Port Vale before moving to Deepdale for ú35,000 in March 1989. Never a star player, but made his mark in the Fourth Division in 1991-92. His best ever goals (a 25-yard screamer at Aldershot) was rendered void by Aldershot's liquidation that year.
